I’m very excited to announce the Deep Bliss Yoga Retreat! This will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and the perfect remedy for the gray Northwest winter.

Join us for this week-long retreat to Villa Sumaya, on the stunning Lake Atitlán, Guatemala. We will focus on casting off the accumulated weight of the previous year and making room for new growth.

Each day will begin and end with our yoga practice, with the intention of opening our hearts and being receptive to possibility. In between, we will make new friends, explore exotic spaces, and relax deeply into ease and joy. We’ll balance the opportunity for self-work with the equally valuable chance to find peace and stillness.

We are also focusing at this retreat on our relationships to one another, through “Connection Yoga”.  We believe the world is asking us as yogis to take the fruits of our practice into our human relating. “Connection Yoga” builds on your asana practice through exercises designed to flex your “relationship muscles”. Think of it like the yoga that starts when you leave your mat and enter the world of relating to intimate partners, family and friends. Sometimes that can seem harder than the sweatiest yoga pose! At the retreat in Guatemala, Dr. Jessica  Tartaro, Intimacy Therapist & Yogi, will guide you through connection games each day as part of your yoga practice. We will explore the challenging relationship postures that show up most frequently in our lives and learn how to resource ourselves with creativity, humor, self-forgiveness and community support. You will leave more empowered to engage in relationship like a yogi – with skillfulness and compassion for yourself and others.

Lake Atitlán is a gorgeous environment surrounded by three volcanoes, and is home to several indigenous Mayan communities. It has been called “the most beautiful lake in the world”, with ideal weather (February high temperatures are in the low 80’s), a relaxed pace of life, and breathtaking views. This is a place to find deep contented peace, to relax, soak in the sun, and cast off the worries of day-to-day life.

Join us to relax and strengthen your body through yoga, infuse your relating with awareness through Connection Yoga and restore your soul through the beauty of Guatemala.

Dr. Jessica Tartaro is an Intimacy Therapist & Advanced Yogi.  In 1998 while conducting cancer research in London she found yoga and has spent thousands of hours on her mat since.  She practices yoga to create the space in her body needed to feel big feelings, think big thoughts and channel big healing in the world.  At the 2019 Guatemala retreat in collaboration with Mystic Monkey Yoga she will be guiding participants through “Connection Yoga”, a chance to apply the yogic principles of presence and mindfulness to the way we communicate to one another. Think, the yoga that happens in the space in between us!  Jessica is thrilled at the chance to join her genius for authentic communication with her passion for yoga practice.  Read more about how she can help you stretch your relational edge at www.DrJessicaTartaro.com.
