Have you noticed how easy it is for relationships in your life to build up unspoken hurts?
Have you felt the need to pull away because you didn’t know how to address or resolve the tension?
Are you experiencing a drift around your intimacy where you struggle to be honest and just feel close to people over time?
Y’all, you are definitely not alone.
My name is Dr. Jessica Tartaro. I work as an Intimacy Coach which means that I teach people how to protect, grow and nurture all kinds of relationships, not just romantic ones.
The challenge with addressing conflict – small or big – when it arises in the relationships that matter to you is something WE ALL SHARE.
Meaning, most people I know – and the majority of people I see in my private practice – end up avoiding rather than addressing relationships HEAD ON when there is any form of conflict.
Which could be useful if there was such a thing as “conflict free” relationships!
But there’s not. Conflict eventually emerges in all relationships – it’s simply part of human relating. But it’s far from a bad thing. Many great teachers say that it’s even a pathway for us to get closer to each other!
If we do it right.
But if we don’t do it right – or if we don’t address conflict at all – sadly, we usually end up losing that friendship or that work relationship or even a whole community of people. Over time, the fabric of our society is frayed by these losses.
Most people don’t know that there are accessible and straightforward steps you can take to clean up conflict before it gets bigger and actually strengthen the trust and closeness in any relationship through the conflict!
Which is where this course comes in.
I hope you will join me ~EITHER~ in person in Port Hadlock on June 2nd or online on the afternoon of June 4th for an exploration of what makes direct communication so challenging for most of us and how to interrupt the cycle of small conflicts getting bigger through simple communication tools you will learn in this class.
This course is for you if:
– You feel awkward when you need to say something difficult in relationship.
– You tend to avoid and withdraw rather than directly address someone when tension arises in connection.
– You don’t know where to begin when someone hurts your feelings – but you know that it definitely hurts!
– You care deeply about your friends, family and intimate partners and don’t want to lose them over the little bumps in the road.
– You believe that the world needs you and all of us to get better at handling conflict in all its forms.
If any of those describe you, I hope you will join us.
In this class we will:
– Normalize the challenges with conflict aka take the shame out of the learning
– Explore the barriers that may be keeping you from taking more risks in your relationships
– Engage in “low stakes” practice that will give you a real time taste of pathways for addressing misunderstandings when they occur
– Bring attention to how these processes impact our bodies
– Try out simple embodiment exercises including breathing and gentle movement to help “stuck” places feel less stuck

All relationships of any form will at some point include the need to talk about difficult things – misunderstandings, missed opportunities, hurt feelings and simple disagreements. But this doesn’t have to spell the end of your relationship! To the contrary, if you have the right tools, it can actually become a glue that binds you to your friends and loved ones more deeply. And that, my friends, is what we need more of in our communities!
I hope you will join me for ~EITHER~ a live class or a virtual session on “How to Keep Small Conflicts from Getting Big “. I believe it’s time we work on this – in a friendly way – together.
